I have grown this plant both in the ground and in a pot. Both have done very well. The one in the ground is currently heavily shaded by an Aridaria and would probably appreciate a lot more sun. The potted plant is preparing to bloom (January 2004).

CULTIVATION: M. dissitum is a winter grower, going completely dormant, covering it's leaves with a layer of dead skin, in the summer. During dormancy I keep it very dry (the plant in the ground is also shaded, but the potted plant receives sun until noon).

PROPOGATION: I have had no problems growing any Mitrophyllum from seed.
