THE SUCCULENT GARDEN
AT CAL STATE

BCSS Garden Journal
October 16, 2004

Today Stephen, NathanieI, and Linda showed up to work in the garden -- our first work day of the season. Matt showed up a while later. We spent a couple of hours relocating and planting some old and new plants. Then we watered all of them since the rains had not arrived yet. James Parker also showed up during the work time (with his mom) and we decided to work on Saturday, Oct 30th. However, due to plentiful rain, we canceled the work day. It would have been very difficult to move the heavy wet dirt. We will discuss another work day at the November meeting. The work that needs to be done is: relocate some dirt (only about a ton of it! No, seriously, maybe 40 wheelbarrow loads...). and then plan new walkways and planting areas for the "Old World" section. Then we will be ready to relocate the old world plants to their new locations. After that, we should make a Wish List of plants we want to add, start on the walkways and cover up the old pump structure. By then it will be summer again and time to take some time off!
