Issue 9:12 THE CACTUS PATCH December 2006

Announcement From an Old Treasurer

We should be thinking about officers for next year. Thanks to Steve Crippen for filling in after Vonne moved to Colorado (By the way, Vonne and Mickey are gradually moving into their new home on over an acre of land near Boulder. They are really busy trying to get settled. In a recent email, they send their best to all and miss everyone.) So - please think about helping BCSS by volunteering to be an officer. The positions that you are invited to volunteer for are President, Vice President, Secretary (Anne continue?), Treasurer, Newsletter editor (I hope Stephen Cooley will continue), and Hospitality (Bill?). The continued viability of our club depends on your help.

Membership in the Bakersfield Cactus & Succulent Society costs $10 per year for an individual and only $15 a year for a family. This extraordinarily reasonable price not only includes twelve issues of The Cactus Patch but entitles you to participate in club field trips to far-off (out-of-town) and exotic places (more exotic than Bakersfield). You will also receive a nifty name tag that will be your ticket to the members only plant raffle held every meeting featuring the best plant from the raffle table! All this is in addition to the wonderful programs and people at the meetings.
